The Llano River is a tributary of the Colorado River and is nearly 105 miles in length. The North and South branches of the Llano River converge just northwest of the town of Junction to form the Llano River which flows east for about 100 miles through cities such as Mason, Castell, Llano, and Kingsland, where it flows under highway 87 on its way to the mouth of the Colorado River.

There are plenty of other activities to do around the river too. Take a nature walk, or hike through the area to experience the panoramic views of wildflowers, and abundant wildlife roaming about first-hand. After your walk or hike, come back to the park for a cool swim in the Llano. Take a day tour to one of the nearby historical sites in the area. Then return for a night around the campfire with family, roasting marshmallows and sharing stories with one another.
